Book update!
+ more interviews
Hello, friends—
A little book update: I’ve now conducted 60+ interviews for MAKE MORE ART (!), and last week I sent the first three chapters to my editor. (I have an editor! Doesn’t that sound official??). Wish me luck!
(Also, in case you missed it, here’s the announcement I made a month ago exactly!).
One of the loveliest parts of this process has been getting to connect with so many of you more deeply. I knew there would be incredible projects and artwork, but I can’t even begin to tell you how meaningful it’s been to hear your stories. I cry, often!
At the beginning, I was casting a pretty wide net—trying to discover what kinds of stories were emerging. Now that the book is taking shape, I’m getting more targeted chapter by chapter.
Right now I’m especially looking for stories connected to these themes:
PAYING ATTENTION
Projects that helped you become more observant, connected, present, reflective, or engaged with your surroundings, routines, emotions, or daily life. Documentation, journaling, photography, collecting, noticing patterns, small rituals, “ordinary” subjects, etc.
STAYING WITH IT
How to keep going (even when you don’t want to). Projects that involved creative plateaus, boredom, perfectionism, the dark night of the soul, missed days, changing the rules, learning flexibility, redefining success, coming back after stopping, or realizing getting through the messy middle of the project was actually the point.
If you already filled out the earlier form and I haven’t reached out yet, that doesn’t mean your story isn’t resonating with me or won’t become relevant later on. I’m moving through things chapter by chapter, and I may still circle back. You’re also very welcome to submit again, especially if these themes feel particularly aligned with your experience. Thank you, again.
XO,
Lindsay

Are you wanting some snippets to help decide and then you plan to interview people via a call? Or do you want us to send you in writing a more flushed out story that you can use ? (I have not looked st the form yet as i need to log into google on my computer and I am doing this via phone. So apologies if the answer to my question is in the form!).
