Thank you for this- I am not loving my project choice, I always wanted to try it but now I’m not so sure I like it. Hearing that you didn’t finish one tarot card and that it was okay made me feel relieved.
I started this project wanting to get better at landscapes. I thought, this is the year!! I will finally learn to paint scenes!
I stagnated at the beginning of the project until I finally realised I’m feeling more like portraits… lo and behold! My creativity came roaring back! I’m now painting every day and motivated to improve my portrait painting skills. I still want to improve my landscapes but for now I’m gonna run with it!
I haven't posted until now. Talk about following your curiosity!! My project is to learn something new about Junk Journaling. I have been having the time of my life! It's the first thing I think of when I wake in the morning. So far, so good! I have built a good bit of ephemera and five journals. I have dyed papers, used napkins, stamped, stenciled and everything in between. I've made clusters, envelopes, hidden paper clips, decorated paper clips, tags galore, master boards, a never-ending ephemera holder, button closures, page toppers, decorated tabs and the list goes on! Thanks for having me.
This is my third time doing the project and your post today resonates with me....My first year I was all over the place. I explored all sorts of unused art products I had.....I felt a little lost until somewhere midway. Last year I found one specific skill I wanted to learn, zentangle, which I had seen on an Open Studio Tour. It appealed to me because it was small, pretty self contained, and seemed like it would really not take tons of time.....well, I still put a lot of time in because I absorbed in the process. This year, I started with the premise of using playing cards as a base for all of my pieces as I had seen another artist do this last year.....that lasted about a week before I decided that is was too limited and started making my own cards. Last week I abandoned that shape and went to squares which is a shape I love to work with. The difference between year one and this year is I don't feel like I'm doing something wrong. I'm just giving into the process way earlier and it's making me much happier. Explore. Thats my criteria. Thanks for the posts leading us into the acceptance of whatever we produce.
Thank you so much for this week’s theme, because that is definitely this week’s theme for me—I have NO IDEA what I’m doing. I narrowed “drawing” down to “portraits” just to have a bit more of a container, and then I discovered I don’t know what I’m doing in terms of style of portrait. Aaarrrrggghhh!! Now, after reading this week’s theme, I can let things unfold as they will. I feel better now… Thank you. 🙏💕
I am using the prompts to work on my drawing skills. They have definitely improved! I cant say Im loving the look of my project but I am enjoying the practice
