I’m drawing for 100 days and it’s going very well. I’ve always struggled to draw in the past. I’ve made real rules for myself to use pen and paper just black and white and this has really worked for me 😊
I havent officially been doing the 100 day but have pushed myself to be creative every day this year - the comments in this interview really resonate as I have also used the time as ‘me time’ without worrying too much about the ‘quality’ of the outcome and focussing on the process of simply doing
"The feeling of running dry can happen often, but always passes when you give yourself room to play. And the ideas come easier the more you practice messing around." THIS! I think this is one of the beautiful things this project encourages us to build into our creative practice. Just by doing the daily work no matter what I feel brings new ideas to the surface.
Also, I agree about doing this project for yourself and no one else is where it’s at! I just got done with Day 22 the other day but I’m going at my own sustainable pace, and I’m fine with that. The old me would have stressed myself out trying to get caught up. This new me now embraces that life happens (and I’m also a healthcare professional with wacky hours and care for all patients in all different ages and walks of life). But I still intend on doing 100 days’ worth of analog creativity!💕🎉
Thank you for hosting this project every year!! 💕🥹🎉🎉
Becky’s comments and sentiments resonate very much! Yesterday felt challenging as I was very tired after a very full day and I had left the project behind as in actually forgetting about it. I almost blew it off but I didn’t really want to - just go and sit and scribble and see what happens. I felt like I had run dry. So like Becky said, give yourself room to play! One minute with my sketchbook then turned into many more. It’s about me remembering that feeling of transformation when harnessing my willingness to honor myself. Thank you Becky and Lindsay for reminding me that anything goes and that it counts!
