Hello, friends!
Congratulations on doing the first week of the project! I also want to say a huge thank you to our first contributing writer of the year,
. I hope you’ve enjoyed her posts this week as much as I have.A few things Anna shared that struck a chord with me: challenging the myth of the “solo artistic genius”, creativity being more than just what we do, and the value of incorporating generative activities into our creative process.
You can stay in touch with Anna by subscribing to her wonderful newsletter here and following her on social here. Thank you, Anna!
Let’s reflect on our first week:
How do you feel about the container you’ve created for your project? Is it working for you? What might you change or adapt?
What are you learning about your creative process so far?
Who did you invite into your creative container?
What’s feeling good or interesting lately?
Our theme this week is showing up.
“I admire anyone who has the guts to write anything at all.” – E.B. White
(I concur! To write, to paint, to dance, to sing, to knit – to create anything.)
Here are a few prompts to start to explore the theme:
Do you feel like it takes guts to do your project? What about sharing your project?
What makes you feel brave?
What has helped you show up and be consistent in past projects or efforts?
How might you apply what works for you to your current project?
Cheers to showing up – keep going!
XO,
Lindsay
A thought I found creeping in this week is my project isn't a "proper" project this year because I'm focused on the joys that fuel & inspire my creativity rather than creating something. So I'm celebrating my courageousness for doing a project that feels really right for me right now, even when it leaves the anxious part of me feels like I don't belong in the wider project and leaves me doubting myself for making the choice to do something different.
Thank you for having me!
