Sounds like a beautiful adventure! Thanks for sharing- I love seeing what other folks created for the project! Mine took me down a rabbit hole Iβm still in right now! There really is magic in the detours! π«Άππ»π«Ά
Iβd love to share about my project and where it took me!
My project was to paint a circle a day-
I used pre cut circles of watercolor paper that were 6β in diameter
I set up my table with my watercolors and brushes
At first I was really into painting spirals- itβs one of my symbols - it connects me to my ancestors and heritage so each one almost became a pray or red threatπ«Ά
It was so fun and meditative
Seeing how the paper reacted to the water, how much could it absorb, what happened when I added pigment to a pool of water laying on the top? My sense of curiosity grew & grew as the days went on. Until one day I began adding petals of flowers and leaves to my circles then adding inks watercolor on top!!
Bring nature right into the process was so refreshing and the results were stunning! Iβm hooked I tried dried them fresh - adding small amount of pigment to water on the paper first- then trying it the other way- it was so exciting & relaxing at the same time and now Iβm started teaching it! Iβm also planning on filming the process and creating an online workshop!
I gathered fragments, shards, discarded objects, things that caught my eye as I went about my days. I printed βimpressionsβ of these objects. I have been exploring ways to tell this story and bind them. I have been experimenting with creating folio for each week, using another found object, an envelope. Will share a few images
My digital drawing has continued to improve since beginning from scratch with this yearβs 100 day project and Iβve started to get people asking me to do commissions for them!
My favourites things to draw are still what Lindsay dubbed my βpaper dollβ style pieces. @doodling.up.close on Instagram if anyoneβs curious π

ππ love your paper dolls!
Wonderful to see this with and hear about your journeyβs Lindsey. Ok, Iβm out of practice canβt figure out how to upload a photo to share- sigh!
It was a great reprieve from the winter doldrums!
I up cycled toy dinosaurs and then distributed them throughout the community, in the hopes of making someone smile. :)
