Hey Artists,
Sending along another gentle encouragement to submit your art to our Reels.
Here’s the link!
I am of the mindset that when we put something beautiful out into the world, it doesn’t really belong to us anymore. Which can feel pretty darn vulnerable, similar to what it’s like raising kids and watching them go off into their own destinies. Oh, how my mama heart just wants to keep them safe! Our art can be so personal that we try to control what we feel we cannot trust, including the opinions of others, and the world has not proven to be an entirely trustworthy place, has it?
This is one of the reasons why I love this project so much. There is such a kind, supportive community all around. There is space for everyone, or, as my kids say, “Everybody’s IN, baby!”.
In coaching, I help folks learn how to “detach with love”. This is a life changing concept. Detaching does not imply unkindness nor condemnation, but rather a letting go of obsessive control over things (people, outcomes, etc) in order to live freer, happier and more manageable lives. It can help us see situations more objectively. It can create the space we need to see with clarity our own next right things.
How might you detach with love from the physical results of your project, in order to be more free to create in general? Would you put your something beautiful out into the world, as practice?
Grace & Peace,
Trish
I love “Everybody’s IN, baby!” The phrase, the sentiment, the source 💖 I submitted my artwork for the first time! I actually submitted twice in case I got the sizing wrong—that’s not me being over-eager. I can’t tell you all how much the 100 Day Project is doing for me. Having this daily accountability means my drawing is progressing by leaps and bounds. My creative roadblocks are being forgotten because I can’t wait to get to my project, and I’m feeling a new freedom to experiment and do “why the heck not?” work. Thank you to everyone running this and everyone participating! 🙏💕💕💕
We’re in, baby!
