Happy Day 60! Will you take a minute to leave a word of encouragement for someone (you can search the hashtag, check our tagged photos, or scroll the Notes here on Substack)? It means so much, and you might just make a new art friend.
If you’re not doing the project this year but feeling like you might like to, Emma joined in on Day 26. You know what that means? You can join in on Day 60. Because 40 days of making is more than no days, right? Right! I’m gonna break the fourth wall here and tell you something: it’s not about finishing 100 days, it’s about making more art and all of the wonderful, challenging, life-changing things that happen when you do. Today is as good of a day as any to start again – or better!
Ok, here’s my news:
I recently started working on a book about The 100 Day Project. Writing it here to nearly 60,000 is scary and exciting and makes it feel so much more real.
And I need your help!
This project belongs to all of us; I think that’s part of what makes it so special. If you’ve started a project, finished a few, or even cheered people on while you just thought about participating, you have shaped and made this thing what it is. There’s 2.5 MILLION posts on Instagram alone, art that might not have otherwise been made or shared. How incredible is that?
Here’s my ask – if you’ve had a meaningful experience doing the project, will you tell me about it?
You don’t need to be participating this year, you don’t need to have finished a project. If you have something to share, I would love to read it – and this is for my eyes only (for now! I won’t share anything without your OK).
Thank you for being part of it, whichever part you play. I’ve been doing interviews the last few weeks and it has been so lovely to hear your stories and get to connect. Feel free to forward this email to friends you know have done the project too.
XO,
Lindsay
