The transformative power of a small daily creative action with Rukmini Poddar 🎧
our final episode of the season + helpful links to get started
Hello! We’re back with the final podcast episode of the season – if you’re on the fence about starting with us on Sunday, give it a listen. My guest,
, is an artist and the author of Draw Your Feelings: A Creative Journal to Help Connect with Your Emotions through Art (and a HUGE evangelist for doing #The100DayProject!).Rukmini has participated for over nine (!) consecutive years. She’s a real testament to the power of a daily practice. We first connected several years ago when she sent me a book she made out of one of her early projects and I’ve been amazed and delighted to watch her continue to create and follow her curiosities. In this episode, she shares how the challenge of creating something every day for 100 days helped reshape her career and her artistic identity.
Rukmini’s words of wisdom about doing #The100DayProject:
Little commitments can lead to big transformations: something as simple as a small daily action can have hugely transformative effects on you as an artist and human.
The biggest gift is trust: showing up for yourself day-after-day builds trust and confidence.
There’s magic in sharing: the act of sharing can become as transformative as your creative practice itself.
Follow your curiosity: you can’t predict where it will lead you – and that’s the point! Allow yourself to explore new areas of interest and creative practices and unexpected things will happen.
Vulnerability resonates: being open and sharing encourages other people to do the same.
“What you do consistently you become.” – Rukmini Poddar

And we also have a workshop on Friday on ways to document and share your project. This is for anyone who wants to get more creative about sharing their project; I’ve put together ~80 examples for inspiration, plus an overview of the platforms and tools for capturing and editing content. (Both sliding scale, recordings will be shared with participants if you can’t join us live).
