Still thinking about doing #The100DayProject? 🧐
here's what people say about doing #The100DayProject
Hey friends,
One of the greatest gifts of my life is getting to hear from people about how doing #The100DayProject changed them in some way. It’s a real honor to get to be part of something that means so much to so many people.
My feeling is that you feel pulled in any way to participate, do it. (If you want to sit this year out, that’s ok too!). And if you’re not sure what you’ll get out of it, that’s kind of the point! But here’s a few people from the community, in their own words, sharing what doing #The100DayProject did for them:
“I really loved doing #The100DayProject last year. I chose something achievable to do and it got me creating every day. I completed it and I’ve got 100 days of my artwork to look back over. It was a fab achievement for me.” – Carol
“The 100 days seems like a long time to commit, but goes so quickly. Setting reasonable goals, and making definite plans to create daily has now become a lifelong habit (need) in my life because of completing two whole 100 days and part of another. Creating makes everything else in the day smoother, brighter, calmer.” – Sharon
“#The100DayProject was hands down the most notable thing that kickstarted my dormant creativity and helped propel me into a path towards a more artistic career. It started with just doing a daily drawing in 2018. In 2019, I created more of a theme, which has led to some commissioned work with a winery. But most importantly, the project – and the encouragement of my community that came with it – gave me the push I needed to begin intentionally and regularly carving out creative time for myself. I'm happy to say that I've sold plenty of work since I started drawing and painting more, and I'm looking forward to a group show in the spring and seeing where my interests take me.” – Leigh Ann
“I had no idea what a wonderful art community existed until I took part in my first project. There are so many ways to participate. Maybe the best part was seeing how my art evolved through repetition.” – Carla
“If you have time to do this, it is worth it. Make it a small simple action that you can repeat everyday. Don't be put off by people who post masterpieces online every day! It can be too easy to be stifled by perfectionism. If you have to take a day or two off, just start up again whenever you want. It can be something as simple as calling your mom or sending a thank you note or drawing a scribble everyday. Having someone being the recipient of your art or action is helpful to keep you on track.” – Tracie S.
“#The100DayProject has been amazing!! It's helped me step out of my comfort zone a bit more, and learn to thoroughly enjoy the process. And, there's no guilt if you can't complete it in 100 days! I've loved both years I've done it.” – Brenda
“Undertaking #The100DayProject seemed daunting for me until I realized that I was allowing myself to have fun for 100 days out of a calendar year. This adjusted my fun days both in volume and creativity. Definitely a must do for your creative soul.” – Sylvia
What might you say in 100 days?
XO,
Lindsay
I will do my first 100day project this year. I always have more ideas than action, so my focus will be to do something creative every day, to try , to explore and feel what gives me energy and joy. My goal is to have a better idea what is my thing by the end of the 100 days.
Yep I am all in for the100 day project this year. I am still deciding which of 2 ideas I have but one will come about for sure.
