Hi friends!
Ahhhh, it’s here! #The100DayProject starts tomorrow, February 18 💯
If you’re just hearing about it or you’re on the fence, it’s not too late to join. The first year I did the project, I heard about it the night before. Pick a small action you can do daily. Starting tomorrow, do it every day for the next 100 days and document and share your process online (like on your Instagram, blog, or wherever you feel comfortable). You can check out the website and this round-up of resources, but ultimately the rules are made up – and they’re made up by YOU!
One of the most common things I hear leading up to the start of the project is last year I stopped on day X or I only did Y days or I didn’t finish. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t matter. It really doesn’t! However many days you did, however far you got – it’s perfect. Not every project needs to be completed. It’s ok if you’ve “failed,” I have too. You can start and stop as many projects as you like – the important thing is to keep starting.
We’re kicking off Week 1 of the project with a guest writer,
. We actually met in another online art community (YBR, by ), which is, I think, a testament to the kind of connections you can make when you say yes to the journey. Who might you meet doing the project? You gotta start to find out.I’m excited for you to hear her from Anna and to bring in other voices throughout the project this year. There’s more than one way to commit to your creativity, and my hope is that by sharing more and different ways encourages you to keep going and find your own way. (For example, Anna has doubts about a daily practice as "the way" to creativity for herself, and maybe you can relate).
A few things you might do this week as we get started:
let your friends and family know, and tell them how they can support you
schedule your project on your calendar in advance so you know you have a little time set aside
think about what attitude or feeling you want to bring to your project (curiosity is a good place to start if you’re not sure)
give yourself permission for your project to change if what you had planned doesn’t end up feeling like a fit
Excited to see what you create this year – thank you for being part of it, whether you’re participating or cheering people on 💓
XO,
Lindsay
Count me in! Would love to join you. I am a first timer. The last half of 2023 I have become totally fascinated with collage and abstract. I have set 15 minutes a day for paint play, just for me. I can't wait to make all that new paper and create small collages and explore abstracts. Will I make it the 100 days? Won't know until I try!
I have 5 tablets of 20 pages each of mixed media paper and a bag full of paint and a fistful of paint brushes already to go. Also a bag of old magazines to throw some collage in there. This is my first #The100dayproject!! Bring it in!!
